Working Rule Agreement Scotland

The Joint Council of Construction (CIJC) Labour Rules Agreement is the largest agreement of its kind in the construction industry and includes more than 500,000 workers. All 500,000 workers are subject to the minimum wage rates set out in the agreement and most are covered by the whole agreement, which includes, among other things, travel fares and fares. Employment contracts are concluded between employers` and trade union organizations, which define the conditions of many workers in the construction sector and related industries. The Scottish Building Federation is the only Scottish body that is a signatory to the Working Rule Agreement (WRA) of the Joint Council of the Construction Industry. The WRA is the largest industrial contract in the construction industry, with about 400,000 workers. This collectively negotiated employment contract defines working conditions for wages, overtime, leave, sickness, pensions, travel and the minimum living wage. SBF members are free to use the labour regulation agreement or cooperate with SBF to develop more appropriate contractual terms. Civil Engineering Procedure, 7th edition, published by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) defines a Labour Rules Agreement (WRA) as follows: such agreements can help to avoid labour disputes and facilitate the negotiation process between a very large number of different employers and workers. In addition, expenses such as travel and accommodation paid to workers under an EEA are not accounted for as tax revenue. SBF is exceptionally well positioned to understand the nature of the working relationship in the Scottish construction industry and is therefore used by MEPs to support and advise on employment.

The following amendments to the Labour Rules Agreement have been submitted by the Joint Council of the Construction Sector and will come into force on Monday, June 24, 2019. Although they are voluntary, their use as a guide helps to create a level playing field in the construction industry. This support is tailored to the needs of MPs and often includes personal meetings at MPs` offices across Scotland. The SBF will ensure that members are assisted in the organization and preparation of meetings, in the drafting of correspondence, in reviewing procedures and in arrugers, hearings and appeals. Currently, the national minimum wage for people aged 21 to 24 is $7.70 per hour and the national minimum wage for those aged 25 and over is currently $8.21 per hour.
